SendHugs

SendHugs

SendHugs is a free, non-profit tool for making one page about one person, so friends and family have somewhere to send stories, photos and notes. Everything they send comes to you first, and nothing appears until you say so.

Sample messages

We work alongside hospices, hospitals and family foundations, who hand SendHugs to the families they support at no cost. If you run one and want to do the same, we'd like to hear from you.

Here's one, and here's what you get to decide about it.

Colour: twelve to pick from, or your own
How the page moves: three to pick from
The wording: every line is yours to rewrite
The headingRemembering [Name]. [Name], always.
The invitation to writeShare a memory Tell us about [Name]
The thank-you after they sendThank you. This meant a lot. Thank you.

We write sensible defaults for every one, so you never face a blank page, but nothing on it has to stay in our words. The groups are yours to name too.

Remembering [Name].A gathering place for everyone whose life [Name] touched.
“Skated backwards, badly, all year.”
“I keep setting the extra place.”
“Never let a teammate feel small.”

What people ask us.

What does it cost?

Nothing, and there's no paid version underneath. We're a non-profit. No fees, no ads, nothing sold on.

Who sees what people send?

Only you, until you publish it. The sender is never told either way.

Is it only for memorials?

No. Plenty of pages are for someone still here, and the wording changes to suit.

Can our foundation offer it?

Yes. We set up pages for the families you support, with your name on the invitation, at no cost to anyone.
